Researching the History of Electronics in Australia!

Posted by Karl von Moller  Published in Australia

Hello to all. My Blog has been quiet of late, simply due to the immense task of my current project! Now that my documentary covers the history of technological development in Australia, the task of researching information has been all consuming! I don’t think I realised just how big this project was going to get [...]

State of Electronics – The beginning!

Posted by Karl von Moller  Published in Australia

For the last couple of months, I have been working hard on a new project, tentatively called “State of Electronics”. It’s basically concerned with the history, development and future of the Australian Electronics Design and Manufacturing Industry. Partly fuelled by my own interests in Electronics, the documentary hopes to investigate the life cycle of an [...]

“The Beekeeper” – A mini Documentary

Posted by Karl von Moller  Published in Australia

While driving around country Victoria Australia, in early 2009, I stopped by an old Sawmill near Jubilee Lake in the township of Daylesford. Daylesford has an amazing history including playing a large role during the 1850′s – 1950′s Gold Rush era. Today it’s Melbourne’s weekend escape with many Spa & Massage Centres, thanks to the [...]

Forest regrowth in Daylesford 7 months later!

Posted by Karl von Moller  Published in Australia

After 7 months of rest, recuperation and some heavy rainfalls, the Wombat State Forest near Daylesford Australia is slowly recovering from the effects of the recent bush fires. When ever I get the chance, I like to take trips into the forest and see how nature tries to rebuild what was lost. It’s pretty clear to [...]

Australia Day Fireworks

Posted by Karl von Moller  Published in Australia

Arriving back in Melbourne only the day before, I was happy to be reminded that Australia Day Fireworks celebrations would take place on the banks of the Yarra River in the Melbourne CBD. My Son had seen fireworks before, however he was reasonably scared by the experience. Now that he is older, Bronte and I [...]

The New Year ticks over!

Posted by Karl von Moller  Published in Australia

As New Years Eve came and went, I took the opportunity to really test out my new Canon 5D MKII. I have to say, I love it. My earlier experience with it was somewhat limited in retrospect because I wasn’t trying to control the lighting or framing in anyway. I was simply pointing and [...]

The dangers at Lake Eildon!

Posted by Karl von Moller  Published in Australia

Lake Eildon is Victoria’s biggest state run water storage dam. It was built in 1956 and provides vital irrigation to many farmers across the state. The drought that has afflicted Australia for the last 10 years has taken a particularly large toll on Eildon’s current capacity. While traveling back from Mansfield and Mt [...]

Mt Buller Australia

Posted by Karl von Moller  Published in Australia

Dashing back to Australia, the family and I took a quick trip to Mansfield Victoria for a quick vacation! I caught up with my sister and her husband which was great. We took their kids for a drive to Mt Buller while they were off to a reunion. Strangely, recently our good friends Mick & [...]
